Seychelles forests Coral Strand Hotel Seychelles wildlife is diverse and unique – there are huge tropical forests that are home to many species.
According to the U.N. FAO, 89.1% or about 41,000 ha of Seychelles is forested.
More than 45% of the forests are within national parks or other conservation areas.
The inner islands of Seychelles, which are of continental origin, are some of the oldest oceanic islands in the world. Their flora and fauna have evolved, through tens of millions of years of isolation, to have a very high level of endemism.
