  1. Get to Know About Fuel Metering Valve and Its Sensor! On current engines, fuel delivery systems use adjustable fuel pressure, which is adjusted to match the engine's required power output. The amount of injected fuel in the cylinder is determined by the combination of fuel pressure and injector opening time. A mechanical high-pressure fuel pump with a fuel metering valve and a fuel rail with a fuel pressure sensor make up this type of adaptive fuel pressure management. Fuel atomization at the injector nozzle is also improved by the high fuel pressures employed in these systems. The fuel valve on the mechanical fuel pump regulates the amount of gasoline entering the pump to adjust the fuel pressure in the rail. A spring holds the plunger fully open, allowing gasoline to travel through. The opening is reduced by moving the plunger against the spring's pressure, utilizing a magnetic field generated by activating the solenoid, to reduce the amount of fuel. The positive side of the Natural Gas Fuel Metering solenoid is driven by a system relay, while the negative side is grounded by the ECU. The fuel pressure sensor signal indicates the pressure in the fuel rail; as the fuel pressure rises, the signal voltage rises. These are the points about fuel metering valve.
