  1. 4 Easy Tips to Start Apartment Gardening

  2. Don’t let your limited space thwart your gardening dreams. From your patio to interiors, you can create a mini yet beautiful garden with the help of these apartment gardening tips. Having a garden in your home benefits you in many ways. It not only accentuates your living spaces but also reconnects you with nature. Plus, it improves the oxygen level and gives organic food as well.

  3. Inside Gardening Don’t you have a balcony? No problem. Why not develop a mini garden inside your house? Yeah, it is easy to do. You can place some plants in your rooms. This not only lets you fulfill your gardening dream but also brings in life and color to your interiors.  • Don’t go overboard with watering as it can kill your plants. Only water when the soil is dry. In between, mist leafy and tropical plants with a spray bottle. • Don’t keep the plants near ducted heat or ACs as excessive heat or cold can kill them.  • Make sure to keep grow lights close to the plants, but not so close to burn their leaves.  • Place the ferns and other moisture plants in the bathroom.

  4. Square Foot Gardening In addition to planter boxes, you can grow a variety of plants in a small space. This practice is known as square foot gardening. It is a great way to make the most of your small space.  It requires the wooden boards to be nailed together so that they form a structure of the vertical grid. Fill each square with soil to form the raised beds. Plant the different vegetables in each of the squares. Square foot gardening is great as it doesn’t promote the grass growing in your garden space. Make sure to grow medium-sized veggies one per square.

  5. Planter Boxes Planter boxes are a basic yet wonderful idea to live up your gardening dream. Good thing is that they are a great fit for small spaces.  Available in many shapes and sizes, they are made of metals, plastic, and wood.  • Make sure the boxes have 2 to 3 holes for adequate drainage. If they don’t have, you can create them by using a drill machine. Keep the planter boxes in the place where they receive at least five hours of sunlight per day.  • Fill the planter boxes with the mixture of loam garden soil, sand and peat moss for healthy soil for the plants.  • Water the soil unless it drains out of the bottom of the planter box.  • Use a liquid plant fertilizer to the planter box after 14 days.

  6. Vertical Hanging Garden • Vertical hanging gardens look amazing and unique as well. It is a technique to grow plants on vertically suspended panels. For example, you can align the wall with several pots. Or you can start by nailing bottles to the wall. Here’s how… • Cut out the rectangle from the plastic bottle in the middle and then place a cardboard strip. • Fill it with potting soil and place the plant inside.  • Wrap the loop around from both sides (near ends) and hang it on the wall.  • Nail them to the wall.
