  1. EVERGREEN HEDGES

  2. What Are Evergreen Hedges? Evergreen trees and shrubs retain their green color throughout the year, in contrast to deciduous trees and shrubs that turn brown at specific times of the year. They can be conifers like arborvitae and red cedar or broad-leaved plants like laurel, firethorn, and boxwood. All of the evergreen hedge varieties we list here make excellent hedges because of their dense growth, ease of maintenance, and adaptability to a variety of environments. The evergreen bushes that make up the garden's foundation. They provide shape and color even in the dead of winter when other plants are dormant and bare.

  3. As accent trees or medium to tall hedges, the big-textured trees, like laurels, make a bold statement and work best in a large area. The finer-textured boxwoods, arborvitae, and red cedar can be used in small or large spaces as towering privacy hedges or as low formal hedges for borders, knot gardens, and parterres. They could also get their tops cut off.

  4. The top 4 evergreen bushes for privacy hedging 1 Rhododendron – Dandy Man 2 Blue Holly – Castle 3 Juniper – Gin Fizz 4 False Cypress – Pinpoint

  5. Rhododendron – Dandy Man Rhododendrons decorate the landscape with their abundant flower clusters every spring, which sparkle in pink, purple, and white tones. They benefit from the cover provided by big trees that offer some protection from the winter sun and wind because they are understory shrubs. Every spring, you can expect to see a magnificent sight: a hedge of rhododendrons growing beneath a canopy of conifers.

  6. Blue Holly – Castle The blue holly, which has broad leaves and is evergreen, adds lovely winter appeal similarly to rhododendrons. They lack lovely blooms in favor of bright red berries. This is the traditional holly variety that you see on Christmas cards, complete with scalloped pointed leaves in glossy shades of deep green, despite the common name "blue" holly. It's fun to clip them and use them in winter arrangements.

  7. Juniper – Gin Fizz Gin Fizz juniper makes a quick- growing, evergreen hedge, deer- resistant hedge for the sun. It won't take long for this pyramid-shaped evergreen shrub to conceal your neighbor's garage or give your garden some privacy. You'll adore this cultivar's exceptionally generous annual crop of blueberries as well. In the winter, its broad branches make for amusing mantle scapes or porch pots.

  8. False Cypress – Pinpoint Love the way the juniper in Gin Fizz looks, but you need something more shadow-tolerant. It thrives in the sun or light shade and is resistant to deer. Its slimmer, space-saving silhouette is useful in areas where square footage is at a premium. If you'd prefer a different color, you're in luck! The Pinpoint series also comes in gold and blue & gold colors. It is hardy in zones 5-7, resistant to deer, 15-20' tall, and 4-5' wide. It also grows in sun and part shade.
