  2. The pump is the most important part of the LVAD device. This pump is placed at the apex of the heart under the left ventricle. It receives blood and pumps it into a tube that takes blood to the aorta and eventually to the whole body. About Left Ventricular Assist Device or LVAD is a mechanical support device which helps the heart of a patient pump blood from the left ventricle (lower left chamber of the heart) to the Aorta (an artery that supplies blood from the heart to other organs of the body).
