  1. How Teeth Whitening Works Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure that aims to lighten the colour of the teeth and remove stains and discoloration. Teeth whitening works by breaking up the molecules that cause stains on the tooth enamel. These molecules, called chromogens, are made up of colour pigments that adhere to the tooth surface. Teeth whitening can change your smile by making your teeth appear brighter and more attractive. The procedure can remove stains and discoloration caused by factors such as age, smoking, and consumption of certain foods and drinks. This can give the appearance of healthier, more youthful teeth. The most common method of teeth whitening is through the use of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. These compounds release oxygen molecules when they come into contact with the tooth, which in turn breaks up the chromogens, making the teeth appear whiter. In-office teeth-whitening treatments, such as laser whitening, use a stronger concentration of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide and a specialised light or laser to accelerate the whitening process. You should also consult an experienced dentist for the process. At-home teeth whitening kits, such as

  2. whitening trays and strips, use alower concentration of the whitening agent and rely on the patient to apply the treatment for a specified period of time. It is important to note that teeth whitening only works on natural teeth and may not be effective for all types of stains. Additionally, teeth whitening does not work on all teeth, as some teeth may have intrinsic stains that cannot be removed by bleaching. It's recommended to consult a Teeth whitening dentist before starting any teeth whitening treatment. Also, keep in mind that teeth whitening is not a permanent solution, and the teeth may become discoloured again over time, as a result, it's important to maintain a good oral hygiene routine and avoid habits that can cause staining. However, it's important to note that teeth whitening is not suitable for everyone and may not be effective for all types of stains. Additionally, it does not work on all teeth, as some teeth may have intrinsic stains that cannot be removed by bleaching. If the procedure is done correctly and the person has the appropriate expectations, itcan make a significant difference in the overall appearance of a person's smile and boost their confidence.
