  1. Walking with Fear: Lessons from Horse At Clear Sky Retreat Center, surrounded by open grasslands and quiet forests, I entered a world I had never known—horses. I wasn’t a “horse person,” and I was honest about my fear. Speaking it aloud felt vulnerable, yet it became the first step toward growth and transformation. Under the guidance of Catherine Sensei and Natural Horsemanship trainer Yvonne, I discovered that fear is not an enemy—it is a teacher. Through awareness, presence, and intention, I learned that acknowledging fear allows it to lose control over my energy, emotions, and actions. The horses became living mirrors of my inner state. They responded to my calm, my tension, and my clarity, teaching me to communicate beyond words. Each interaction became a lesson in empathy, connection, and resilience, showing that true growth arises from facing discomfort rather than avoiding it. Being observed during training was intimidating, yet it revealed the value of vulnerability, trust, and community. Through these experiences, hesitation transformed into curiosity, and fear became courage and compassion.

  2. This journey reminded me that training horses is, in essence, training the mind. Fear is not a limitation—it is an invitation to grow, to embrace awareness, and to cultivate a life of presence, connection, and understanding.
