  1. Quick Clean Up Tips Before A Party

  2. Unless you’re a professional party planner or have no other work, family or social commitments taking up your day, time is of the essence when you’re planning a party, especially if you need to get your home clean first; whether it be a dinner party, garden BBQ or full on knees up! However, with these quick clean up tips, you can get your place party ready in next to no time: Grab the baking soda and sprinkle away: Stinky carpets are a real issue whether you have party guests or not, but if you are welcoming people into your home, they’ll be sure to notice the smell under their feet and it will not give a good impression.

  3. Resolve this by shaking a light dusting of baking soda over your carpets and rugs and leaving it for at least 15 minutes before you vacuum it up. Give your fixtures a quick going over: Chances are that you’ll have a lemon to hand when you’re preparing for a party, whether it be for popping in a refreshing beverage or sticking inside a roast chicken, so why not take one half and run it over your faucets and other chrome items to get them gleaming before your guests arrive. Toss the used lemon in the garbage disposal afterward to eliminate any offending smells.

  4. Make your kitchen and home smell fresh and welcoming: Simply fill a saucepan with 3 tablespoons of vinegar mixed into a cup of water and boil it for a few minutes. This will help evaporate any whiffs that may be lingering, say from last night’s fish supper, and you can always add oranges or a cinnamon stick to the pot for an even sweeter aroma. Identify and quickly eliminate small but obvious stains: Vinegar mixed with water is a great natural stain remover and doesn’t leave a chemical smell in the air. Pop the mixture into a spray bottle and dowse any problem areas, such as stains on mirrors, before wiping with a damp cloth or towel.

  5. Tidy up a little: Picking things up from the floor and any other surfaces can quickly make your home look tidier and more organized, and you can even shove them all into a box in a cupboard just until your guests have gone. Pick up after your pets: Most pets leave some fur and dander on surfaces and furniture, but by popping on a damp pair of rubber gloves, you can easily and effectively pick it up.

  6. Do NOT forget to clean the toilet: At a party, toilets can prove to be high-traffic zones, so keeping yours clean and smelling fresh is important if you want your guests to have a positive washroom experience. Don’t be obsessed about cleaning everywhere: There may be some areas of your home that guests will not even look in, let alone set foot inside, so don’t stress about getting them clean and tidy on the day of your party; focus your energies on what guests will see.
