Does Cleaning Make You Miserable?

While this may sound like a bit of a trick question (I mean who likes cleaning, right?), for those suffering from a mental health disorder such as anxiety or depression, the desire to keep a clean home is simply not a priority, and can either attribute towards their negative state of mind, or be a direct result of it.

  1. Does Cleaning Make You Miserable?

  2. While this may sound like a bit of a trick question (I mean who likes cleaning, right?), for those suffering from a mental health disorder such as anxiety or depression, the desire to keep a clean home is simply not a priority, and can either attribute towards their negative state of mind, or be a direct result of it. Some suffering from mental health disorders may feel that an untidy home makes them feel even more stressed, and they will often clean compulsively to feel more positive about life or their current situation. Others will be so caught up in the mental misery that such illnesses can inflict on people, that they cannot focus on cleaning or even on keeping tidy, and their homes will quickly become dirty and unkempt.

  3. The less tidy and clean their homes are, the less and less they feel able to cope, and things may spiral out of control until the person is living in the equivalent of a hovel. At this point, it’s a vicious circle. The untidiness and grime may make the individual feel worse, but the worse they feel, the less inclined or motivated they are towards cleaning things up. Even if you are not suffering from any form of mental illness, but simply hate the thought of cleaning, and spending your time doing it makes you feel miserable, there is always a solution.

  4. Professional cleaning companies make it their business to keep your home clean and tidy, and since most are set up by folks who have a passion for cleaning, you know that they’re going to put their heart and soul into it. They know what it feels like to take pride in a home, and they will clean yours to the same standard that they would clean their own. No job is too big or too small, and no level of dirt and grime is too much for them. If pride is standing between you and a clean home, why not simply hire a professional cleaning company but don’t tell anybody else! Some folks worry that others will view them as being lazy if they don’t clean their own homes, but what they don’t know, can’t hurt them!

  5. At the end of the day, life really is too short to be feeling miserable, especially over something like cleaning. Hire a professional company to take the misery out of cleaning, and find yourself with more time to spend doing the things you love and the things that will keep misery at bay.
