  1. GUIDE TO DINING TABLE SIZE: HOW TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT TABLE You want to purchase a dining table, then. Although it may seem simple, one of the most crucial factors to take into account is the size of your desired piece and how it will look in your space. The size of your room, the placement of your table, how much room the legs take up and where they are located, and how you intend to use your table— from small family meals to large social gatherings—all have an impact on your choice. Selecting the proper size is essential to achieving the optimum visual and functional balance in your area, therefore it's not a choice that should be made lightly. How many people can a dining table accommodate? Knowing how many people would typically be seated at your table and how many seats you want to provide is one of the most important factors to take into account. According to the number of seats, these are the approximate sizes as a general rule of thumb: Minimum 60 x 70 cm for a two-seater. Minimum 120 x 70cm for a four-seater. Minimum 180 x 80 cm for a six-seater. Minimum 220 x 90cm for an 8-seater oak dining table. Minimum 270 x 90 cm for a ten-seater. Minimum 330 x 90 cm, for 12 seats. These measurements were calculated using rectangular tables. The dining tables from Hardman Design are handcrafted in this shape, but we can also make tables to order in any shape, size, or finish. Rectangle tables are excellent for their comfort, functionality, and practicality. Compared to a round oak dining table, a rectangular table normally accommodates more guests and has more space for dishes. It also generally blends in nicely with the decor of the room.

  2. Benches are a terrific way to make the most of this space since they allow people to huddle up if necessary and go well with a rectangular table. A dining table is an excellent place to add oak dining benches. A rectangle table may be a multifunctional piece of furniture in a space, sitting proudly in the middle of a space or looking excellent against a wall or window. As opposed to many circular tables, rectangular tables typically have their legs placed on the four corners, allowing for more comfortable leg room for each diner.
