  2. ? BRIEF OVERVIEW ? Madhyamaheshwar Madhyamaheshwar is the second temple in the sacred Panch Kedar circuit, deeply rooted in the Mahabharata legend. After the war, the Pandavas sought Lord Shiva’s forgiveness. Shiva, avoiding them, took the form of a bull and disappeared into the earth at Kedarnath. His body parts appeared at five different places—his navel emerged at Madhyamaheshwar. The temple enshrines a navel-shaped black stone lingam, representing the divine core of Lord Shiva. Built in traditional North Indian Nagara style, the temple is simple yet spiritually powerful. Set at an altitude of ~3,500 meters, surrounded by snow-capped peaks, thick forests, and alpine meadows, Madhyamaheshwar is not just a pilgrimage but a journey inward.
