  2. ? BRIEF OVERVIEW ? Chardham The Char Dham Yatra is one of the most revered pilgrimage circuits in India, located in the state of Uttarakhand in the Himalayas. It includes four sacred temples: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. These sites are dedicated to different Hindu deities and hold immense religious and spiritual significance for devotees. The yatra traditionally begins from Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna River and the seat of Goddess Yamuna. Pilgrims then proceed to Gangotri, the origin of the holy Ganga River, where Goddess Ganga is worshipped. The third stop is Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and dedicated to Lord Shiva, nestled amidst snow-covered peaks. The final destination is Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located along the banks of the Alaknanda River. The journey is not just spiritual but also offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas, serene landscapes, and challenging treks. The Char Dham Yatra is believed to cleanse one's soul of sins and lead toward salvation (moksha). It is undertaken during the summer months, typically from May to October, as the temples remain closed in winter due to heavy snowfall.

Start the 6 km trek to Yamunotri; after darshan, trek back (total 5–6 hours round trip). Return to Barkot for dinner and overnight stay. Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi After breakfast, drive to Uttarkashi (Distance: 85 km | Travel Time: 4–5 hours), en route visit Maneri Waterfall. Day 7: Kedarnath – Sitapur / Pipalkoti Early morning darshan at Kedarnath, then trek back to Gaurikund.
