  2. When looking at women’s rights it’s supportive to have an understanding of feminism. At its core, feminism is the reliance that women are entitled to political, economic, and social equality. Feminism is performed to ensure women can fully enjoy their rights on an equal footing with men.

  3. Gender equality and women empowerment and girls is not just a goal in itself, but a key to sustainable development, economic growth, and peace and security, and society gets superior for everyone when women’s rights are upheld and taken seriously.

  4. Moreover, many women, including transgender, gender diverse, and intersex women, face compounded forms of discrimination—due to factors such as their age, race, ethnicity, disability, or socioeconomic status—in addition to gender-based discrimination.
