Introduction • KTET is short for Kerela Teacher Eligibility Test. It is conducted by the government every year. The KTET exam is hosted for the selection of teachers in Kerala. The test is for the selection of the best teachers. It is performed every year. Hence, it is a very moderate level test. It is a state test. Almost all of the teachers take this test. KTET Exam Eligibility Criteria • Any qualified student can fill the application form. The student should check if they are qualified to fill the form. If a student is not qualified for any post, then they cannot fill the application form. The qualifications for all four categories are below. • Category-I • Minimum 45% in 10th and 12th standard. Certificate of trained teacher(TTC) • Minimum 45% in 10th and 12th standard. Diploma of two years in Elementary education. • Minimum 50% marks in 10th and 12th. Degree of BEIED • Minimum 50% marks in 10 and 12th. A two-year diploma in special education. • Category-II • BSc/Bcom/BA. A two-year Diploma in elementary education/TTC • Minimum 40% in Bsc/BA/Bcom. One year in B.ed as per NCTE. • Minimum 50% in 10th and 12th. Degree in BEIED. • Minimum 50%. Four-year Bsc/Bed • Category-III • Minimum 45% marks in BSc/BA/Bcom. A B.ed degree in a selected subject. • Students applying for Physics, Mathematics, Botany, and Zoology need an MSc Ed Degree. They should have a minimum of 50% marks in MSc. • The degree should be under NCERT. • Minimum 45% marks in BA/Or any equivalent. • PASS in LTTC
KTET Exam Eligibility Criteria • Additional qualifications • Diploma/Degree of teaching in any subject. • Should have the given certificate with them. • The degree should be from a recognized university. • The Degree can be from open universities. • Category-IV • Should have all the qualifications in the language. • For more information refer to chapter XXI of the Kerela Education Act and Rules. • Students who fall in SC/ST/PWD will get a 5% relaxation in qualifying marks. • Students who fall in OBC/OEC will get a 3% relaxation in qualifying marks.
KTET Exam Syllabus KTET Exam Pattern • The questions are based on SCERT Kerela. At last, the KTET syllabus is different for all four categories. • Category-I • Pedagogy and Child Development for age 6-11. • Environment studies and Maths up to class I-V by SCERT. • Some language-related questions. • Category-II • Pedagogy and Child Development for age 6-11. • Environment studies and Maths up to class V-VIII by SCERT. • Some language-related questions. • Category-III and IV • Subject-specific areas, Adolescent Psychology, and Language questions. • The exam pattern is decided and informed as per the exam.
