3. ABOUTUNIVERSITY Hidayatullah National Law University is one of the most popular autonomous law universities in the country. It was established in 2003 and named after the former Chief Justice of India, Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah. The university offers LLB, B.A, LLM Programme, Integrated Programme and other PhD courses as well. The Bar Council of India has recognised the university and the University Grants Commission provides assistance to the institution.Hidayatullah National Law University is located in Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh. 5. HISTORY The Government of Chhattisgarh established the university aiming for legal excellence. Moreover, it was established under the Hidayatullah National University of Law, Chhattisgarh, Act. The university is a residential university and it comes under the University Grants Commission. Over the years, the university has received many awards in the field and ranked by The Week and Outlook India as well. The students have won various championships and other competitions. Moreover, the university focuses on the experiential learning of the students. Earlier, Hidayatullah National Law University allowed students to acquire a major in Economics or Sociology and Political Science. However, now the university only offers a single major in Political Science.

7. CAMPUS Hidayatullah National Law University old campus was located in Raipur city. However, the new campus was shifted to a different campus, in Uparwara, New Raipur. This is located 22km away from Raipur city. The new campus spreads across 65 acres of land. Moreover, the campus has an academic block, administrative block, and a hostel as well.

8. COURSES OFFERED BA LLB: This is an Honors program with specialisations in Criminal Law, Corporate Law and Constitutional Law. The candidates will have to qualify for CLAT, and the aggregate percentage in their last exam should be 45%. The duration of this course is five years. The students are allowed to choose two paper for their final two years. Moreover, they are also required to study optional papers, six in total. The university also offers LLM, the qualifying exam for this course is also CLAT, moreover, the candidate is required to have an aggregate of 55% from any recognised university. Hidayatullah National Law University offers PhD in Law, the candidate is required to either have a degree in LLM or an aggregate of 55% in their previous examination. Moreover, the qualifying examination for this course is either CLET or UGC NET. The university provides scholarships to students who belong to the OBC and ST/SC category. Additionally, some of the Government schemes also cover the scholarships of the students who are from Minority communities and PWD.

9. INFRASTRUCTURE Library Hidayatullah National Law University has a relatively large and extensive library. The air-conditioned library is a three-storied building. The library has a large collection of journals, books and titles. Moreover, the library also has a separate section that has books donated by the family of Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah. However, the two blocks now have a separate mess along with a gym. The hostel has more than 300 single occupancy rooms and the double occupancy rooms are currently under construction. Additionally, the university also provides a resident doctor in the hostel for the students.
