  3. ABOUTUNIVERSITY Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET), established in 1993, is a maritime educational academy in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is a technology-oriented institute for higher education, which comes under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Moreover, on August 21, 2007, AMET University became the first Maritime Deemed University in India. Academy of Maritime Education and Training University overlooks the Bay of Bengal and is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Additionally, the ‘B’ Grade was given by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) to AMET University in the year 2015. Besides, a total of 48 courses are available at AMET University. The University courses include UG, PG, PhD, and Diploma.

  6. INFRASTRUCTURE Hostel To offer suitable housing for its students, the university's campus also has separate boys’ and girls’ hostels. Computers and a 24-hour backup power supply are available in large lodgings. Besides, the Dormitory canteen serves nutritious and healthy food cooked in hygienic conditions. Recreational and sporting facilities are also available. Therefore, a hostel has proper furnishing, provides an ideal atmosphere to make residents feel at home. Medical Facilities The university also has a wellness facility on premises that provides high-quality health services to both students, faculty, and non-teaching employees.   8. COURSES OFFERED Undergraduate University provides a wide range of undergraduate courses, for example, B.E., B.Tech, B.Sc., B.Sc. Hons., BBA, B.Com, B.Voc. etc. Applicants must have cleared 10+2 from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% aggregate. However, admission to all courses is done based on entrance exam/ written test and personal interview. Postgraduate To enrol in any PG programs, for example, ME, MBA, and M.SC., etc an applicant must clear the Graduation in relevant subject with a minimum of 50% aggregate. However, students must score decent marks in their respective entrance tests like CAT, XAT, TANCET, etc. In either case, the final selection of students is dependent on their performance in the respective qualifying/entrance test followed by a personal interview.

  9. COURSES OFFERED Diploma The University offers Diploma courses in Nautical Science and Marine Engineering in various specializations. Besides, an applicant must have cleared 12th or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Additionally, applicants have to appear for admission and a psychometric test conducted by the university. However, Final Admissions are done based on the entrance exam and personal interview. PhD. The university offers doctoral programs in various specializations such as Mechanical engineering, Marine Bio-Technology, Physics, Information Technology, Chemistry, English, Marine engineering, Nautical Science, etc. Besides, an applicant must clear the Graduation as well as post-graduation in relevant subjects with a minimum of 55% aggregate. However, the final selection of students is dependent upon an entrance exam, a written test followed by a personal interview.
