The Karnataka Sanskrit University was founded in 2010 and is located in Bangalore. ABOUTUNIVERSITY Karnataka Sanskrit University is located in Bangalore and it was established in 2010. The Government of Karnataka established the university for better development in the Sanskrit language. Additionally, the university also aims for proper research in the Sanskrit language. Moreover, there are 14 aided colleges and three constituent colleges along with 15 UG Centres The University Grants Commission has approved the Karnataka Samskrit University. Additionally, the university has three main wings which include Departmental, Advertisement, Analysis and Coaching. HISTORY The Karnataka Government established the university in 2010 and there are around 243 Sanskrit and Veda Pathashalas, which are all aided. The university has also established the Directorate of Sanskrit Education, mainly to take control and mentor Pre-university education in Karnataka. The State Government of Karnataka established the institution mainly to develop the Sanskrit language. The language has a cultural tradition, literary, scientific and hoary heritage. Additionally, the university also offers scholarships to students who belong to the ST, SC and Minority communities. The university provides the Post-Matric Scholarship and Post-Metric Scholarship, which is provided to around 70,000 students. COURSES Bachelors: Karnataka Samskrit University offer B.A Shastri with various specialisations, for a duration of three years. Some of the top specialisations include DharmashastraAlankara, Jyotishya, JainaSiddhanta, Advaita Vedanta, and Vidvanmadhyamaa. Masters: The university also offers MA in Acharya with specialisations in Shakti Vishishtadwaita Vedanta, Dharmashastra, Alankara, Vidvaduttamaa, Vyakarana, Sahitya, PoorvaMimasa, Jyotishya, Nyaya, JainaSiddhanta, and Advaita Vedanta. Additionally, the Karnataka Samskrit University offers a Diploma in Sanskrit for two years and the candidates are required to pass PUC or any other relevant degree. Moreover, for PG Diplomas, some of the specialisations are Sanskrit Computational Linguistics, Manuscriptology and Shastra. The duration for PG Diploma courses is one year.
INFRASTRUCTURE Library Karnataka Sanskrit University has a very extensive library with a large collection of books and journals. Some of the books include Granthas, Vedas and Gitas.
