ABOUT UNIVERSITY With the strongest urge to retort to the requirement of quality education at a reasonable cost for the people of the North Eastern Region of India, downtown the university was founded in 2010.   5. HISTORY The group began its incredible journey in 1993 when the Down Town school of Nursing was found. It was the first Nursing school of the Northeast. Then with the strongest urge to retort to the requirement of quality education at a reasonable cost for the people of the North Eastern Region of India, downtown the university was founded in 2010. One of its kind, built with modern ideas and methods, Assam downtown University, is found at Panikhaiti, Chandrapur within the city of Guwahati, 12 km far from Dispur, capital of the state Assam. Being the biggest educational group in Assam, AdtU has over 4000 students and over 300 faculty members.
