SSC JHT Exam ELIGIBILITY SYLLABUS ADMIT CARD
Introduction The Staff Selection Commission, abbreviated and popularly known as SSC, is a recruitment agency operating under the Government of India. The organization, as the name suggests, employs staff in several government jobs in various Ministries and Departments of Govt. of India. It conducts many exams for this purpose, but we will talk about the one called SSC JHT in this article. The organization is an extension of the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) and is headquartered in New Delhi. At the highest level of the hierarchy, there is a Chairman, who is assisted by two Members and a Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination. However, the commission has regional offices as well, in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Guwahati, Chennai, Prayagraj, and New Delhi. There are also two sub-regional offices at Chandigarh and Raipur. One of the exams conducted by SSC every year is for the post of Junior Hindi Translator, or JHT. Senior Hindi Translators, Hindi Pradhyapak, and Junior Translator posts are also included in this exam. The process is two-tiered, i.e., the examination has two phases.

SSC JHTExamSyllabus SSC JHTExamPattern • Paper-I: • It checks on the candidate’s knowledge and overall command over English and Hindi language and literature. • It will contain 100 MCQ’s in General Hindi and another 100 in General English. • The standard of the questions will be of degree level. • Paper-II: • This part is meant to assess and weigh the examinee’s expertise on bidirectional translation between Hindi and English. • In this section, applicants have to write 4 passages, which will be of the following types: • English to Hindi Translation • Hindi to English Translation • Hindi essay writing • English essay writing
SSC JHT Admit Card • SSC JHT hall tickets will be available on the official regional websites of the organizing body, i.e. the Commission itself. The Commission issues separate admit cards for the two phases. • Aspirants can download the e-admit cards typically at least 7 days before the exams by logging in to their account on the website with their login credentials, viz. Registration ID and Password. • Examinees need to carry an original photo ID proof along with the hard copy of their hall tickets to the examination centre. • The admit card will contain important details like the applicant’s name, photo, signature, registration number, roll number, name of the post, allotted exam date, time, and venue. • Of course, candidates should go through the details carefully and contact the commission at the earliest if there is any discrepancy.
SSC JHT Result As the official notification for SSC JHT 2021 is yet to be released, the dates of releasing the results are not definite. But there are some tentative dates available. For example, Paper-I will probably be conducted in August, and the result of this paper will be out in September. Moreover, it is possible that the second phase of the written exam, i.e. Paper-II will take place in November 2021 and the result of it, as well as the final list of selected candidates, will be available in December before we step into another year. For your information, Paper-II of SSC JHT 2020 was held on 14th February 2021, and the final result was declared on July 14th. So, you can understand that if everything happens as per the predictions based on some insightful sources, this year the exam is going to happen way earlier. However, this is not to be forgotten that we still are not completely out of the clutches of this horrific pandemic. The third wave is just lurking about, and given the circumstances, the dates may very well change. Based on their performances in both the papers, candidates will be shortlisted for the Document Verification round, which is the last step before actually landing up in the job. Moreover, during this round, you will get the opportunity to show your preference of departments/ Ministries.
How to Check the SSC JHT Result? • The result of SSC JHT Paper-I is usually declared one month after the exam. The pdf of the result will be available on the official website of SSC. Thereafter, candidates shortlisted from this stage will be eligible to take the Paper-II exam. • This is how the candidates can view and download their results: • Visit the online website of the Staff Selection Commission, which is https://ssc.nic.in/ • There should be a link called ‘Results’ on the Home page. Click on it. • All the exams of SSC will appear as a list. Select the relevant one, which will be SSC JHT 2021 in this case. • A pdf will open in another tab and it will show the names and roll numbers of all the selected students. • Naturally, the results of the two papers will be released separately as exams on the two papers will be conducted separately.
How ToApply? • Registration: • Go to the official website of the Staff Selection Commission and click on “Apply Online”. • A registration page will open, where you have to go to the “New Registration” tab. • Register yourself by providing the information demanded on the page. It is compulsory that you have a valid email ID and phone number. • A Registration No. and a password will be generated and sent to you through email and SMS. Preserve this for future login. • Filling the form: • After registration is complete, log in again using the newly generated ID and password, and start filling out the application form. • Keep the necessary documents like mark sheet, identity proof etc. handy, so that you are not interrupted when you have to enter the ID proof number or university scores etc. • Uploading of documents: • In the next stage, you have to upload your scanned photograph and signature in the prescribed format, which is 8-bit jpg or jpeg. • The photograph should be sized 20-50 kb and the signature between 10 & 20 kb. • These two things are a must; additionally, you will need to upload your left-hand thumb impression as well if you cannot provide your Aadhaar Card number.
ImportantFAQ Q.1 What is the probation period for SSC JHT? Ans. The probation period is typically 2 years, during which the candidates will have to go through a series of training and exams conducted and supervised by the Controlling Authority. Therefore, after successful completion of this probation period, the candidates will be retained in their posts if decided fit for the same by the Controlling Authority. Q.2 How many vacancies have SSC released for Translator positions? Ans. Vacancies for SSC JHT 2021-22 sessions are yet to be published officially. However, the commission had released 283 total vacancies in the 2020-21 sessions, where 275 were for Junior Translator posts and 8 were for the post of Senior Hindi Translator. Also, in the year before it, the total number of vacancies was 325, which means the number of vacancies declined last year. Q.3 Can a final-year graduation student apply for SSC JHT 2021? Ans. In general, the minimum educational qualification for applying is post-graduation. Graduates can apply if they have the required certification or precise working experience as specified by the Commission— but the truth is, very few candidates fulfill this criterion in reality. In any case, neither fresher graduates nor students in the final year of graduation are eligible to apply. Q.4 What are the age criteria to apply for SSC JHT 2021? Ans. The minimum and maximum ages for being able to apply are 18 years and 30 years respectively for unreserved applicants. Candidates have to be born between 1st January 1991 and 1st January 2003 (both dates inclusive) to appear for SSC JHT 2021. However, relaxation on the upper age limit will apply to certain reserved categories as per government regulations. Q.5 What is the salary of the selected candidates in SSC JHT? Ans. A Junior Translator of the 6th level gets a total of INR 35400/- per month, adding all the allowances and applying all the reductions. Of course, posts of higher levels have a higher starting base pay like 44900/- or 47600/- per month. However, there is always the chance of getting promoted and paid higher along the line, which depends on the candidate’s performance.
