  3. Indian Law Institute The Indian Law Institute (ILI) is a Socio-Legal Research Institute. It became a Deemed University in 2004 thus thereafter it functioning is autonomous. The university is not only bound to studies it has duties as its objectives to promote the diffusion of law, to preserve law and related materials, to build new offices around India in order to reach and promote academics on a wider scale. Furthermore, in its time the institute has achieved success in many areas. It is now a premier center for national and international legal research studies.   5. HISTOR Y The Indian Law Institute was established in 1956 however it received a formal establishment only a year later in 1957. The institute was inaugurated by the first President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad in the presence of Pandit. Jawaharlal Nehru the first Prime minister of India. The institute set with the primary objective to facilitate law and studies in law. Therefore the institutes' made autonomous by the Societies Registration Act, 1860. Furthermore, the institute went on to become a Deemed University in 2004. In its initial days, the institute functioned from the complex of the Supreme Court however from 1962 it started moving to its permanent campus opposite to the supreme court.

General Infrastructure The institute has Seminar Halls, Conference Rooms, proper classrooms with audio and visual aids, and gizmos. It also has Lecture Halls and an Artium. However, the intake capacity is only limited to 9 students which may raise the cutoff marks. •LLM one year program has two semesters and the annual intake capacity is 38. However, two seats are additionally available for J&K and foreign students. •The institute offers four postgraduate diploma programs. The programs are Alternative Dispute Resolution, Corporate laws and Management, cyber law, and Intellectual Property Rights. •Furthermore, two online certificate programs are also available which are Certificate course on Cyber Law and Certificate Course on Intellectual Property Rights and Information technology in the internet age.
