3. ABOUT UNIVERSITY The Rayalaseema University is a public educational institution located in the Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. It is functioning since 2008. It is functioning owing to Act No. 29 of 2008. Further, the Act was published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette in September 2008. The University primarily promotes access, equity, At first, the Rayalaseema University started functioning with just two courses- Namely MA in English and M.Ed courses. At present, there are several courses spread across 18 departments. Also, you can access under graduation, post-graduation, and doctoral programs here. Above all, rayalaseema university has started engineering college in the academic year 2019-20.

6. HISTORY The postgraduate center at Kurnool was started by Sri Venkateswara University in 1977. It started functioning with just 2 courses. Namely- Economics in area planning and regional development and Operations research and statistical quality control. This catered to industrial needs. However, later the Act No. 29 of 2008 was enacted by the legislature of the state of Andhra Pradesh. Further, it was published in the Andhra Pradesh Gazette on 24th September 2008. Accordingly, the Rayalaseema University started functioning from the Kurnool district. Now, you can access about 325 courses across 9 streams through the 18 departments in the university.
