Malaysia Virtual Experience (MyVXp) Presenting… Learn the Dusun Tribe Way of Making Coffee In Colaboration With: Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Tourism Productivity Nexus (TPN) & Kofkino.com
Learn the Dusun Tribe Way of Making Coffee Coffee. Yes, coffee - a working staple for people to be able to fully function throughout the day. You can have it instant, steeped, espresso, etc. But have you ever tried getting your coffee in a traditional way? Enter Hanteh Ginsos, a coffee farmer from Kota Belud, Sabah who is going digital to help promote his kampung’s Arabica coffee beans. Here’s a little backstory on why the Dusun Tribe uses Malaysia Virtual Experience (MyVXp) as a platform to show you how they process their coffee beans. Way back when, the people of Kampung Kiau Nuluh dabbled in farming Arabica coffee beans as a specialty. However, poor sales and lack of marketing have found most of the farmers abandoning their coffee plantations and focused on ecotourism instead.
As we all know, Sabah is well-known for its great tourism, but the pandemic hasn’t been kind to the state (or to most of us) due to the Movement Control Orders (MCO) in much of 2020, and outsiders can’t come anyway. How is MyVXp related to this? To overcome these limitations, Hanteh has come up with a way to help his people, by showcasing how the Dusun Tribe processes their coffee – virtually! With only a lesung, or pestle, on one hand and a basket in the other hand, the Dusun Tribe’s way of making coffee has been passed down from generation to generation (at least over 50 years, if not more!) Due to the personal nature of his showcase, it is only limited to 20 people per session, take this opportunity to soak in the generational secrets in making the perfect tribal coffee as you will also be able to interact with Hanteh live and watch how the people of Kampung Kiau process their lovely brew. Showcase Details Date: Sunday, 27 December 2020 Time: 10.00am Price: RM49 Booking Details: https://www.kofkino.com/activity/mari-belajar-memproses-kopi- secara-tradisi/
