  1. TOPIC:HANDLING OF RETURN GOOD,RECALLING AND WASTE DISPOSAL INSTITUTE:CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI COLLEGE OF PHARMACY DEORI DIST GONDIA (4280) SUBJECT: PHARMACEUTICAL QUALITY ASSURANCE Represented by:- Tushar Subhash Chandewar Guided by :- Chandrashekhar Badwaik Sir

  2. HANDLING OF RETURN GOODS:- • Any material or goods (finished or intermediate product) returned from the market shall be stored in a separate area. • Record all the details in returned goods records. • Inform the quality assurance department for evaluation of the returned goods.

  3. The quality assurance chemist shall evaluate the returned goods for the following: • Check the COA and other document with the returned consignment. • Condition of the packing, cartoons and container. • Labelling detail.

  4. If the return material has exceeded -the level expiry period or -the condition of the packaging cartoon, container and storage condition of the material -before returning shipping are doubtful -then destroy the material as per the SOP for the control sample destruction. • Analyze the sample as per the current approved product specification.(as it valid or not) • The product meet appropriate product specification then may be considered for reprocessing according to SOP’s for reprocessing. • In case the sample fail to meet the product specification then destroy the material.(As per SOP’S)

  5. WASTE DISPOSAL • Waste include all item that people no longer have any use for which they either intended to get have already discarded. • Additionally wastage are such items which people are required to discard. E.g.because are there hazardous property. • Biomedical waste is depend as any solid or liquid waste that are generated in the diagnosis, treatment of human being or animal in research,production or testing of biological material.

  6. Regulatory bodies that oversee pharmaceutical waste management: • Environmental protection agency ( EPA) • Department of transportation ( DOT) • Occupational safety and health administration( OSHA) • State pharmacy board. • General pharmaceutical Waste may include but is not limited to: -Expiry drug -Patient discarded personal medication -Waste material containing excess drug example ( syringes, IV bags, tubing, vials) -Contaminated garments, absorbants and spill cleanup material.

  7. Pharmaceutical waste classification:- • Pharmaceutical West is further classified into 3 categories: 1)Hazardous waste 2)Non Hazardous waste 3)Chemo Waste.
