  1. ChhatrapatiShivaji college of pharmacy deori . Topic:- premises – maintenance, sanitatioN and ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL presented by :-akanksha .s. Binzade Guided by :- Chandrashekharbadwaik sir

MaintEnance :- • Maintenance literally means “the process OR practice of keeping something in good”. • Maintenance is one of the most important factor for success of any plant • Building used in manufacturing, packaging or warehousing of drug product should be properly maintained. • i.e any cracks or holes in the walls , floors or ceiling can provide entry for insects, rodents, dirt or micro-organisms.

  3. Importance of proper maintenance :- • Avoidance of contamination :- in properly maintained layout there are Less chances of contamination due to insect and microorganisms. • A properly maintained system will produced Good quality products. • Safety can be enhanced. • A properly maintained layout lead to systematic and smooth functioning of the industry resulting in the increase in output.

  4. Sanitation:- • Buildings used for manufacturing, processing, packing or storing of drug product should be maintained under clean and sanitary conditions. • Cleaning and sanitation programmes should be conducted to fulfill the specific needs of each facility. • All areas must be cleaned regularly and cleaning records must be maintained.

  5. Sanitation CONSISTS OF THREE THINGS:- • i) specific areas must be cleaned and cleaning Intervals. • Ii) cleaning procedures to be followed, including equipment and materials to be used for cleaning. • iii) personnel assigned to and responsible for the cleaning Operations.

  6. ENVIRONMENTAL CONTROL • Environment Indicates the entire surrounding . • Pharmaceutical manufacturing Plant produce large amount of waste material that pollute the environment . • Every pharmaceutical Manufacturer should Take Appropriate step to reduced the Waste material to recycle ♻️ The waste To increase product yield. • The manufacturing areas should be ventilated and fitted with an Exhaust system For removing Vapours , dust , smoke , Fumes Etc.

  7. 1)Thermal pollution and control:-it can be controlled by two ways , a) wet cooling towers B) Dry cooling towers 2)Water pollution and control:-the treatment could done by , a) physical treatment. B) Chemical treatment C ) Biological treatment 3) Air pollution control:- two major categories, a) removing particulate matter b) Removing gaseous pollutants
