  2. Inroduction Pickleball is a paddle sport that incorporates aspects of table tennis, badminton, and tennis.   3. History of Pickleball Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum created pickleball on Washington, in 1965. During summer vacation, they wanted to find a game that their children could play in their backyard. The game was created by combining elements of table tennis, badminton, and a wiffle ball.   4. Competition Format Doubles/Mixed Format: one-game pool play matches up to eleven, with a two-point victory margin. Semi-final and final medal bracket matches will be best two of three, set to eleven, with a two-point victory. For all singles play, the singles format consists of pool play matches with rally scoring up to 21 and win by 2.
