  1. Top Defence-based tech startups in India      Over the last couple of years, the Indian Entrepreneurship ecosystem has witnessed a new  trend. Innovation that has been buried in a sea of repetitiveness is now returning to the Indian  atmosphere. The Indian start-up group is expected to take the security industry by storm with  its innovative out-of-the-box ideas after making a mark in industries such as eCommerce,  fintech, and AI, etc.    It's important to note that until a few years ago, the Indian defence industry was an elite club  of large-cap firms, but thanks to India’s Startup Boom, several small startups have joined the  defence sector in the last decade.    Here’s a list of India’s top defence-based tech startups:     CRON SYSTEMS  New Delhi  Founded by Tommy Katzenellenbogen,Tushar Chhabra, Saurav Agarwala.  A revolutionary startup in new delhi, founded by Tommy Katzenellenbogen, Tushar Chhabra,  Saurav Agarwala.

  2. CRON Systems is a groundbreaking start-up inside the multi-billion dollar border defense  sector that is developing state-of-the-art intrusion detection systems, built with a mission to  implement IoT boundaries. These systems, produced by the start-up, implement, at a fraction  of the cost of other leading products in this area, the new IoT innovations and designs.    The deep-tech company focuses on the deployment of state-of-the-art technology for border  security.    IDEAFOR  Navi Bombay   Founding members: Ankit Mehta, Rahul Singh, Ashish Bhat  The start-up in Navi Mumbai is the brainchild of three IITians. It only offers services to the  Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the security and paramilitary  forces. They include the National Security Guard, the National Disaster Relief Force, the  Indo-Tibetan Border Patrol, and the Delhi Police.  NETRA, ideaForge's flagship product, was developed by the company in collaboration with  DRDO, India's Ministry of Defense. It is a man-carrying unmanned aerial vehicle which can be  launched by the roadside from a small clearing and made to fly up to a height of 400 meters  over the area of interest.  AXIOSTAT  Bengaluru  Ashish Pandya, founded by Leo Mavely,  This start-up, based in Bengaluru, helps to support Indian soldiers on the frontlines. The  start-up, a Medtech corporation focused on advanced wound care products, is the maker of  Axiostat, India's first haemostatic emergency dressing.  The Hemostat, Axiostat, developed by Bengaluru-based start-up Axio Biosolutions, is helping  Indian Army soldiers, as well as others around the world, tend to their injured peers and  overcome a big cause of preventable death: trauma-related blood loss. There are health service  services such as ambulances, armed forces such as the Indian Army, and numerous hospital  emergency and emergency departments.  While it is not the first hemostat in the world, it is the first wound-dressing product from India  to obtain the US Food & Drug Administration’s node for US sales, and by far the cheapest in the  country.

  3. VIZEXPERTS   In New Delhi  Founders: Bhaniramka Praveen    VizExperts is a business start-up in the field of visual processing, developing dynamic turnkey  applications to transform decision-making data for different organizations.    For real-time military planning, the Army launched automatic sand model technologies in  2014, enabling faster and more critical decision-making. The Interactive Sand Model is  essentially a pioneering solution for Indian paramilitaries, police, and armed forces for field  training, mission briefing, and guidance.  Another VizExpert service used by the Indian Army is GEORBIS. It is a 3D geospatial tool that  helps the Army plan real-time operations and allows quicker and more critical  decision-making.     AADYAH AEROSPACE  Bengaluru  Founders: Shaju Stephen, V Sunderarajan, Samu Joseph, Amarnath Reddy, Pradeep Kumar,  Varun Kurup    With the goal of being India's leading supplier of aeronautics, space and defense engineering,  and technology solutions, AADYAH was founded while preserving a sense of originality that  speaks volumes.    AADYAH was founded in 2016 and manufactures and develops electronic mechanical actuators,  control actuation systems, and electronic optical systems for missiles and launch vehicles, all  in compliance with the Indian Ministry of Defense's 2016 military procurement strategy (DPP).  The start-up still operates an architectural, technical, integration, and center of excellence.    OPTIMIZED ELECTROTECH  Ahmedabad    Anil Yekkala, Dharin Shah, Kuldeep Saxen, Purvi Shah and Sandeep Shah were the founders.    Optimized Electrotech Optimized Electrotech, based in Ahmedabad, is an electro-optical  startup providing solutions for security and surveillance.    The start-up offers electro-optics technologies that can be used for smart city monitoring,  satellite imagery, border protection, medical imaging, access control, machine vision,  automotive (ADAS) and consumer electronics (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

  4.   For strategic and commercial users, they are designing high-end Electro-Optic surveillance  devices.    Its mission is to become a world leader in delivering security solutions to national and foreign  military and aerospace organisations. The business plans to become a force in National  Security, Defense Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance & Machine Vision.     OPPORTUNITIES AHEAD AHEAD OPTINITIES    Over the next five years, India will fund at least 250 security start-ups as it seeks new  technologies that offer a leading edge to the armed forces. The aim is to sell start-ups at least  50 'tangible innovations' that can be applied in the coming years.    The Ministry of Defense will earn at least Rs 500 crore for its Innovations for Defense  Excellence (iDEX) programme, which seeks to put together innovators from the public, private  and military sectors to find emerging technical solutions.
