  1. What is the difference between black tea, green tea, and white tea? Black Tea:- Black tea is one of the most popular form of tea. It is also the most oxidised and possesses the strongest flavour among all types of tea. Tracing its origins to China in the mid-17th century, it was the first kind of tea to be introduced in Europe and the Middle East. Under the patronage of British and Scottish entrepreneurs, black tea production spread to other parts of the world like India, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Kenya, etc. The discovery of the Assam black tea variety (Camellia sinensis assamica) in 1823 marked a milestone in black tea production. Subsequently, the English, who had colonised India by then, began tea farming in Darjeeling, West Bengal. Green Tea:- Green tea is among one of the least oxidised and the least processed types of tea. Today, it has emerged as the sought-after health beverage across the world because it contains high amounts of antioxidants called polyphenols. Green tea originated in China, but its consumption was initially restricted to the upper echelons of society as it was an expensive beverage. A text called ‘Cha Jing’, also referred to as ‘The Classic of Tea', written by Cha Jing in 800 A.D., is the first work which documents the green tea culture in the world history. Green tea was introduced to Europe by travellers in the 19th century and soon became popular along with black tea due to its flavour. It became popular in America, too, after being shipped to the country by settlers. White Tea:- White tea is among the minimally processed types of tea. It derives its name from the white hair on its young buds, which protect the plant from insects while harvesting. White tea traces its origin to China during the reign of Emperor Huizong’s rule of the Song Dynasty (960 – 1297), who was gifted this kind of tea after grinding young tea buds into a silvery-white powder and whisking it into hot water. It was produced commercially for the first time in the Fujian province of China in the 1700s. The first loose leaf white tea was developed from two plant varieties- Da Bai and Da Hao in China. Today, white teas are considered a delicacy with their delicate, rare and aromatic flavours. Visit Site Buy Black Teas Online
