Industrial Hemp is simply a variety of cannabis that was originally used for industrial purposes such as creating fabrics, seeds for consumption and fuel. However, Hemp is now being grown specifically for the production of cannabinoids due to its high levels of CBD, and low levels of the intoxicating compound THC. It is worth noting that European CBD Oil must be made with EU-approved hemp strains that have a maximum content of 0.2% THC. This limits EU hemp production to under 100 different varieties of Hemp. Common strains include Futura 75, Ferimone and Finola. In the USA, however, the THC limit in Hemp is 0.3%. This small increase gives US farmers more varieties of hemp to choose from, many of which can produce higher concentrations of cannabinoids.
