  1. 7-Step Process for Asphalt Pavement Installation

  2. 1 Demolition and removal are the first steps. The removal of the old surface, whether it is asphalt, concrete, or pavers, is the first step in the asphalt installation process. Heavy machinery is used for demolition and removal, including tiny bobcats and forklifts, as well as front loaders and huge dump trucks as necessary.

  3. After that, the debris is cleared. In our asphalt factories, Canadian asphalt maintenance recycles old asphalt and concrete, transforming degrading trash into robust, usable new asphalt. Canadian asphalt maintenance, in fact, recycles virtually all of the materials taken from a job site, making the decision to hire Canadian asphalt maintenance both green and environmentally beneficial.

  4. Step 2: Slope and Grading With a clean slate, Canadian asphalt maintenance asphalt technicians can use technology to prepare the surface for proper water drainage. The Canadian asphalt maintenance team grades the surface to be paved using laser-guided transits and motorized motor graders to ensure proper water run-off. Water is a primary cause of damage to asphalt, including potholes, cracks, and heaving, so proper water drainage is essential.

  5. Step 3: Get the Sub Base Ready You'd never believe that the sub base is the most critical aspect of your new asphalt surface. The sub-base provides a solid foundation for fresh pavement. The sub-foundation acts as a frost barrier, preventing damage from freezing and thawing during the winter. The thickness of the base, the stability of the base, and the compaction of the base are all important factors to consider during the installation. The asphalt surface on top will not last for many years if the sub-foundation is not properly compacted.

  6. Step 4: Undercutting, Proof Rolling, and Sub Base Repair In step 4, a proof roll after the sub-base has been thoroughly graded and compacted to confirm that the underlying surface is strong and ready to receive new asphalt. If the proof roll reveals soft places in the sub-base, then experts conduct the necessary repairs to ensure the sub-foundation as a whole is stable. Soft spots can be repaired with undercutting.

  7. Step 5: Surface Course and Binder It's time to add the binder after the sub-base has been laid and any soft areas have been detected and corrected. The binder layer is made up of huge aggregate mixed with oil, which makes it extremely robust and long-lasting. Any fresh asphalt surface's strength can be compared to the binder layer.

  8. Install a new asphalt surface in step six. Following the installation of the supporting structures for a new asphalt surface, the top layer of fresh asphalt is applied to give a clean, smooth ride. Small gravel, sand, and oil make up surface asphalt. This mix of components produces jet-black asphalt, which delivers a smooth ride and a gleaming, appealing finished surface when put properly.

  9. To Accomplish the asphalt paving: Final Roll Once the asphalt and butt joints have been laid, the entire surface is smoothed and compacted. Using a roller truck, the new asphalt pavement surface is compacted and smoothed. Your asphalt paving contractor should follow these installation steps to make sure your new asphalt surface will provide years of durability and functionality for your home, business, city, or town.
