IELTS Preparation: Getting the Band Score You Need If you’re planning to study abroad or move to an English-speaking country, chances are you’ll need to take the IELTS before you can get a visa or residence permit. It’s not a task to be taken lightly—the IELTS is an important exam for anyone who wants to prove their English language proficiency. That’s why it’s important to have the right preparation plan in place if you want to get the band score you need. In this blog post, we’ll discuss what the IELTS is and how you can create a comprehensive preparation plan that will help you reach your desired score.

  3. What are ‘components’? Components are the four sections of the IELTS exam - Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. Each section is worth a different number of points, and your final band score is an average of the four scores.

IELTS, the International English Language Testing System, is designed to assess the language ability of candidates who need to study or work where English is used as the language of communication. IELTS is required for entry to universities in the UK and other countries. It is also increasingly being accepted by businesses as evidence of linguistic ability. Reading: The reading section of the IELTS exam consists of three passages with a total of 40 questions. You'll have 60 minutes to answer all the questions. The passages will get progressively harder as you move through them. To get the band score you need, you'll need to make sure you're strong in all four skills.

  7. Listening: The listening section of the IELTS exam consists of four sections with a total of 40 questions. You'll have 30 minutes to answer all the questions. The sections will get progressively harder as you move through them. Speaking: The speaking section of the IELTS exam is a face-to-face interview with an examiner. You'll be asked a variety of questions on different topics. You'll have 11-14 minutes to answer all the questions.
