In the present pattern, there are 100 Questions in CAT to be answered in 180 minutes divided into three sections. These sections are Verbal Ability, Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning having 34, 34 & 32 Questions respectively. Each of these sections have a Sectional Constraint bound by time which means one can work on a particular section for only 60 minutes. Verbal Ability: This section aims to check the competence of an aspirant on English. Skills The main areas to be studied here are Vocabulary, Grammar & Reading Comprehension. Quantitative Aptitude: This section aims to check the competence of an aspirant in the area of fundamental Mathematics. The main areas to be studied here are Number System, Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Logarithms, Permutation & Combination, Probability, Functions etc. Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning: This section aims to check the competence of an aspirant in the areas of calculative ability & Thought process.
