In real terms, the industry’s output value is forecast to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 2.72% over the forecast period (2015-2019), in sharp contrast to the 7.1% decline recorded during the review period (2010-2014). According to Eurostat, the construction industry’s production rate in real terms rose by 2.0% in the fourth quarter of 2014 compared to the fourth quarter of 2013. Investment in construction grew by 1.8% in 2014 over 2013. Consequently, the industry began to show signs of improvement, and is anticipated to recover over the forecast period.
