  1. PhD Brainware University in Computer Science from The Department of Computer Science of the Brainware University, Kolkata runs a PhD programme in Computer Science. It has over 28 years of experience in the education sector and ensures to provide the best possible educational supports to its students. The goal of the three years (minimum) PhD programme in Computer Science at Brainware University is to advance the postgraduate education of the researchers and front-runners in Information Technology. It is the highest academic degree in the field of Computer Science for which one has to go through extensive research and coursework beyond the postgraduate level. In order to help the students, the University has designed the PhD programme in such manner so that the researchers get all kinds of supports and exposures from the institution. If a candidate wants admission to the PhD programme in Computer Science, he/she must have obtained 55% marks in aggregate in post graduation level on the relevant field or an equivalent degree from any recognized university. Candidates who have successfully completed M. Phil with at least 55% marks in aggregate or an equivalent grade shall be eligible to do research works in Computer Science. There is a relaxation of 5% marks for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC group. After satisfying the eligibility criteria, a candidate has to sit for the Research Entrance Test (RET) conducted by the University and an interview on the subject. In the entrance test, the qualifying marks are 50%. However, candidates cracked the UGC/CSIR JRF/NET/SLET/GATE will be exempted from entrance test but have to appear for the interview. After the interview procedure, a list of successful candidates shall be published in the University website. The selected candidates shall be admitted provisionally as PhD students on payment of the prescribed fees. For applying for the PhD course, a student has to fill up the prescribed form available at the University office/website.
