Importance of Industrial Immersion Training for Indian Students

During the past, students usually matriculated into training through references. However, times have changed now. Students can connect with executives, manager or even influencers through social media platforms like LinkedIn. In fact, these days it’s enticing to note that some online market platforms like Braingroom, for that matter, gives an opportunity to students to form groups and learn together! How interesting would that be instead of taking individual courses. With group classes you get an opportunity to widen your knowledge and expand your links and outreach! Opportunities are widely distributed these days that all a student needs is the desire to explore more.

  1. Importance of Industrial Immersion Training for Indian Students

  2. Introduction • Industrial training of college students during their course has a great importance in assimilating holistic knowledge. • Immersing students in industrial training serves many purposes and the most predominant one is to give students practical hands-on experience in their chosen fields.

  3. When and Where • Industrial training takes place in the final or penultimate year before graduation for most technical disciplines. • For a period of 3 to 6 months. • Major companies have provisions for industrial training and provide valuable experience to students with a real-world application of knowledge.

  4. Company Atmosphere • As a “student trainee”, students are not given much responsibility • They are given observatory roles with some basic level tasks. • They are free to interact with the whole employee hierarchy getting a close look at how companies function at different levels. • Experienced and senior level employees give valuable guidance to students in terms of work methods and career perspective • In factory installations, one can see what happens in large scale operations using the knowledge fundamentals

  5. Contrast between College Education and Industry Standards • It is a real world experience showing what the entire job would entail • Indian Universities predominantly have an inadequate infrastructure and only a basic level of laboratory facilities • Large companies have the capital to purchase and develop sophisticated equipment which is sometimes imported from foreign countries. • Getting hands on practical experience on these sophisticated machines is an important experience for every student • At some companies, there can also be the chance to see client interaction and how experienced employees discuss key points with clients.

  6. Student’s Future • If a student has undergone training at a reputed technology company it greatly adds to their resume • There is also a chance of placement at the same company if the student has performed exceptionally well during training! • Recommendations letters given by senior company executives are a valuable part of the resume throughout the career • Students get the chance to interact with employees at different levels, this also broadens the perspective of the students in order to decide which role will suit them best and whether they will be interested in pursuing a higher degree

  7. How Can Students Pursue Industrial Training • During the past, students usually matriculated into training through references • Times have changed now. Students can connect with executives, manager or even influencers through social media platforms like LinkedIn. • These days it’s enticing to note that some online market platforms like Braingroom, for that matter, gives an opportunity to students to form groups and learn together! • With group classes you get an opportunity to widen your knowledge and expand your links and outreach!Opportunities are widely distributed these days that all a student needs is the desire to explore more.
