How to e-mail your professors properlyThe New York Times reported a few months ago that college students struggle to interact with their professors. According to the investigation, the emails used inappropriate language frequently and were too casual to effectively communicate ideas to instructors. Although I believe that college instructors are responsible adults who can manage some offensive language, Blake Smith Little Rock Arkansas agree that this is a problem that needs to look at. So I’ve put up a list of the top ten emails for my fellow students.
If your professor has an attendance policy email them in advance if you’re going to be absent. Then thank your professor for their time. State the date and your absence cause (e.g., you have to kill the President, your mother ran out of diet Mr. Pib, etc.).
Ask the instructor your question if you have one. Don’t discuss how long it took God to create the earth or if the Iraq War is a tragedy in your writing. Simply pose Blake Smith Little Rock Arkansas query, express gratitude, and sign your email.
