  1. Innovations for development

  2. From the Takepart portal we receive five intelligent and sustainable innovations in the field of access to sanitation, drinking water and energy that were seen in August in California within the framework of the “ Miller Center for social entrepreneurship” . Every year, 20 social companies and non-profit organizations are invited to receive mentoring for 10 months from entrepreneurs who advise them on how to make their innovations known, with more than 400 social entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries having passed through the center:

  3. -AquaSafi: A network of 100 water stores in 100 villages. 97 million people in India do not have access to drinking water, AquaSafi, the Indian arm of H2O for Humanity, operates through a network of water establishments that, thanks to reverse osmosis, purifies about 1,300 liters of water per hour, later selling it for about two rupees per 20 liters (about 30 cents). In one day they serve up to 130,000 inhabitants and part of the income is shared with the community.

  4. - -Banka BioLoo: Portable bio-toilets. In India there are more than 600 million people and 100 million households that do not have access to toilets. Namita Banka, a resident of Bengaluru, was also frustrated by the lack of public toilets for women, so she presented a technology called “biodigester” that converts waste into water, carbon dioxide and methane through a bacterial process. It treats about 2 million kilograms of waste per year and thereby prevents the contamination of 300,000 liters of water.
