Subhiksha - farmers to consumers.ppt

Subhiksha farmers are practitioners of Bharatiya methods of farming, which by nature is chemical-free. We are now ready to bring this produce directly from our farms to your doorstep. With every product you purchase, 73% of the MRP goes directly to the farmer's account. We give complete traceability of every item that you procure from us and provide a 'Note from the Farmer' to introduce you to our family of farmers.

  1. Subhiksha - Farmers to Consumers Welcome to Organic living

  2. Organic Farming • Natural Farming is a chemical-free alias traditional farming method. It is considered as agroecology based diversified farming system which integrates crops, trees and livestock with functional biodiversity. • In India, Natural farming is promoted as Bhartiya Prakritik Krishi Paddhati Programme (BPKP) under centrally sponsored scheme- Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY). • BPKP is aimed at promoting traditional indigenous practices which reduces externally purchased inputs. • It is largely based on on-farm biomass recycling with major stress on biomass mulching, use of on-farm cow dung-urine formulations; periodic soil aeration and exclusion of all synthetic chemical inputs. • According to HLPE Report, natural farming will reduce dependency on purchased inputs and will help to ease smallholder farmers from credits burden.

  3. The story of Subhiksha Subhiksha Organic Farmers’ Multistate Cooperative Society Limited is registered under the Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act (2002) Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Govt. of India. We are currently delivering farmer's produce from across 15 districts in Karnataka to consumers' homes in Bengaluru. During the last 8 years, we used to organize "Krishi Melas" across Bengaluru, every fortnight. You might have bought our produce from Rashtrothana Parishat in Chamrajpete, Rajajinagar, or from HSR Layout in Bengaluru. You might have been a regular consumer of our popular products such as the Brown Sea Salt, Desi Ghee, Jaggery, Millets and more. During these melas, nearly 100 organic farmers used to come to Bengaluru and directly sell their produce. All this changed when Covid19 struck. Challenging times call for unique measures. Taking the Covid19 crisis as an opportunity, we at Subhiksha have decided to set up a digital market and deliver the farmer's produce directly to your homes. As always, our products are of excellent quality and each product comes with the name and details of the farmer, enabling the connect between farmers and consumers.

  4. What makes it special? • Farmers sell directly to end consumers, without any intermediary • Every produce bears the name, location and photo of the farmer and his family, ensuring traceability of all products. • More than 30% of our field officers are women. • A minimum of 73% of our Product Cost goes directly to the farmer's account. • We facilitate farm visits for interested consumers.
