  1. Cheap Car Insurance in New York

  2. Do you have the impression that your car insurance bill is constantly increasing? It has in New York. New York's average liability premium is always on an upward curve.  In New York, auto insurance is mandatory. Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is available in New York since it is a no-fault insurance jurisdiction. That ensures you file the majority of your injury claims under your policies. New York drivers must purchase basic personal injury insurance (PIP) with a $50000 liability limit for this reason. PIP compensates you for the "economic" losses after a car accident, regardless of who was at fault. This covers hospital costs, up to 80% of lost income due to the crash, and up to $25 a day for all required injuries-related expenses such as transportation. In addition to the $50000 in simple PIP, there is a $2000 death bonus.

  3. When you purchase PIP insurance for your car in New York, it covers the driver and all passengers in the vehicle. Your PIP also covers pedestrians hit by your vehicle. PIP does not cover the loss or theft of your vehicle. However, no-fault insurance does not imply "no-lawsuit insurance." You can file a lawsuit against anyone who causes a car accident if the following conditions are met: Your economic losses (medical costs, lost work income) exceed the $50000 PIP limit.

  4. You can also sue for pain and suffering if you have "severe" injuries, which New York defines as dismemberment; significant disfigurement; a fracture; fetal loss; death; permanent loss of use of a body organ, member, function, or system; permanent consequential limitation of use of a body organ or member; significant restriction of the use of a body function or structure; or an injury or impalement. If you're serious about PIP, you can purchase more than $50000 in coverage.

  5. New York liability insurance  New York provides liability auto insurance for both bodily harm and property damage. So, suppose you are sued by someone who has suffered 'serious injuries, as established by New York law. In that case, your liability insurance will cover your legal defense as well as the lawsuit judgment (up to the limits of your policy). Liability insurance also covers damage to other people's land, such as mowing down someone's fence. In New York, the following minimum liability coverage is required: • $10000 in property loss from a single accident • $25000 per physical damage (not resulting in death) per person, or $50000 for any injury resulting in death for one person in any one accident • $50000 for physical harm (not resulting in death) sustained by two or more people in a single accident, or $100,000 for injuries resulting in death sustained by two or more people in a single accident This is usually written as 25/50/10.

  6. Uninsured Motorist Coverage   Uninsured motorist (UM) coverage is also needed in New York.  In New York, UM only covers accidents, not vehicle injuries. If you are hit by an uninsured driver or injured in a hit-and-run, you can use your UM protections. The minimum amount of UM required is equal to your liability limits, such as 25/50, $25000 per person, and $50000 per accident. It only covers New York incidents, but you can add an endorsement to expand your UM coverage to include out-of-state accidents. We compared auto insurance prices in New York from 10 prominent insurers to find the cheapest car insurance providers to help you save money.

  7. Affordable car insurance for good drivers  Among the companies we surveyed, GEICO, USAA, and Hanover stood out to have the lowest prices for good drivers in New York. (Only individuals with military affiliation, such as active military personnel, veterans, and their relatives, are eligible for membership in USAA.) Affordable car insurance if you have a speeding violation  Among the companies we researched, USAA and Hanover give New York drivers the best deals with speeding tickets. A speeding ticket in New York will add 3 to 11 points to your driving record.

  8. If you exceed the speed limit by 1 to 10 mph, 3 points will be added to your record. If you exceed the speed limit by more than 40 mph, you can be sure that 11 points will be added to your record. If you earn six or more points in 18 months, you must pay a $100 New York's Driver Responsibility Assessment fee which is the last thing you need. When your insurer sees the ticket, the insurance premiums will almost certainly rise at renewal time. After three years, a speeding ticket will remain on your record until the end of the calendar year.

  9. Affordable car insurance for drivers who have accident record  Hanover and USAA are once again the cheapest bets for New York drivers, this time for those who have been in an accident. After three years, an accident will remain on your record in New York until the end of the calendar year. Unless you have accident forgiveness insurance, the premiums are likely to rise at renewal time after the accident. You can receive points on your driving record if you are ticketed for a violation related to the accident. Running a red light will add three points. Affordable car insurance for drivers with poor credit  A bad credit score will increase the auto insurance premium more than a speeding ticket or an accident. With sky-high rates being charged to New York drivers with bad credit, it's critical to compare different companies' rates. In our study, GEICO and USAA have the best rates for people with bad credit.

  10. Affordable car insurance for adding teenage driver  If you need to add a teen driver to your policy, plan to pay an extra $1000 per year. Allstate and New York Central Mutual have the lowest increases in New York. Affordable car insurance for drivers with minimum coverage  The bare minimum of car insurance in New York may be obtained for just under $1000 a year, but bear in mind that if you cause an accident, you can be sued for what your insurance does not cover. In New York, Geico and USAA have the best deals for state minimum coverage.
