Duke’s Health Plans • Duke offers 4 plans to meet the diverse needs of faculty, staff and their families. • Consider: cost, coverage, physician network, dependents, etc. Did You Know?For those enrolled in Duke Select and Duke Basic the provider network will continue to expand in Wake County.
Improving health impacts cost • The projected premium increase nationally is 5 times higher than Duke’s very small average premium increase. $0 – $1.76/month $0 – $7.97/month
Comparing the Cost of Health Care Did You Know?In 2006, the average medical claims cost per Duke employee was $5,298, most of which was covered by Duke.
Pharmacy Benefits • No increase in pharmacy co-pays • Decrease in co-pay for diabetic insulin andsupplies– savings of up to $1,200/year Did You Know?Typically, generic drugs cost 30 percent to 60 percent less than the brand-name drug.
Duke’s Vision Plan for 2008 • No increase for premiums in 2008. • Premiums from $8.85 for individual coverage and $27.47 for family coverage. Vision Plan:provides coverage for prescription lenses and frames or contact lenses (in lieu of eyeglasses), as well as a complete annual eye exam.
Duke’s Dental Plans for 2008 • No increase in premiums for Dental Plan B. • Premiums for Dental Plan A will increase $1.24/month for individual coverage and $3.75/month for family coverage.
