What is plastic ? • Plastic is the general common term for a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic materials used in a huge, and growing, range of applications. • It is almost found everywhere including our houses. •  The term ‘’plastic’’ is derived from the Greek word ''plastikos'' meaning fit for moulding. • There are two broad categories of plastic materials: thermoplastics and thermosetting plastics.

  3. Advantages of plastic :- • Plastic is strong, good and cheap to produce. • Plastic is a odourless material. • Used to make plastic bottle, pens, plastic bags and many more things.

  4. Disadvantage of plastic :- • Plastic is a non – renewable material . • Plastic can cause cancer . • It takes a long time to compose . • Causes a lot’s of pollution .

  5. Impact of plastic in our environment :- •  It has a disastrous impact on marine life. It kills many sea animals. • It is non-biodegradable and pollutes the land. • It affect our food chain . • Over 250 species have been known to have ingested in plastic. • There has been a drastic increase in marine litter .

  6. The conclusion from this presentation is to limit the use of plastic .
