  1. Ask the expert about vaginal issues Dear Dr. Donohue: we have battled a vaginal yeast infection without any success. we have used many not similar creams, but we haven’t done any progress. This is my initial experience with such a problem. Can you offer any ideas? Reply: It might be that you do not have a yeast infection. For women who are past menopause, the number one result of vaginal discharge, prickly or suffering isn’t an infection; it’s atrophic vaginitis. The vaginal backing thins and dries because estrogen isn’t existing to keep it healthy. This leads to exasperation and inflammation, which creates terrible intercourse, itching, on fire, and a bad-smelling, yellowish discharge. Estrogen products can retreat these changes. The ones we speak of are practical right away to the raw tissue. Estrace, an estrogen cream, is a renowned choice. Vagifem, estrogen tablets, is extrinsic in the vagina for steady dissolving. The estrogen ring, Estring, is another device that bit-by-bit releases estrogen after its insertion into the vagina. All of these products advance with a bell about the probable consequences of estrogen, things similar to breast cancer. However, since their low estrogen sip and since the minimal amount of estrogen that creates its way into the blood, such side belongings have not been a problem. A doctor has to establish if a particular lady is a participant in this treatment.

  2. Turning away from atrophic vaginitis to vaginal infections, we’ve faced the large three: candida yeast infection, trichomonas infection, and bacterial vaginosis. A yeast infection produces a white discharge, frequently with clumps that look similar to divert curds. The raw vaginal backing reddens and itches. Nystatin thick cream is of the many products that finish candida infection. The second infection trichomonas (TRICK-oh-MOAN-is) gives way up to a yellowish-green secretion with an objectionable odor. Metronidazole or tinidazole is its treatment. The third infection is bacterial vaginosis, a loss of the normal vaginal germs and the way up of unapproachable bacteria. It produces an odorless, white discharge. It, too, is treated with color with the same medicines used for trichomonas. Dear Dr. Donohue: Can you please provide some solution for Urinary Incontinence? Reply: As we all know UI can be frustrating and irritating sometimes, and difficult to manage especially when we are out of the home. But with few simple lifestyle modifications, you can deal with your UI on your own and can enjoy your life at its best. Some easy-to-do exercises such as kegel and pelvic floor exercises can really help full to deal with OAB. A healthy diet can also do wonders. Other than this to avoid emergency you can trust incontinence panty liners or heavy incontinence pads if you are facing heavy to moderate leaks. Less consumption of alcohol and tobacco can also be helpful. Dear Dr. Donohue: Does douching head off infections? My mom insisted we continually douche to stay healthy. Many years ago, we stopped the practice. None of my friends do this. I am concerned that if I am carrying out the right thing. Am I? Reply: You are. Douching doesn’t head off infections. It is more expected to lead to an infection. The vagina cleanses itself. Will answer some more women health-related issues in my next article. Source
