Civil Supplies Ensuring Food Security By TDP The TDP Government had ruled the state for more than a decade under the presence of the founder NTR and is continued by Nara Chandrababu Naidu with a vision for the future of the state and made it possible for the future generations with the help of many Top TDP Leaders and Best TDP MLA Candidates. Civil supplies ensuring food security: ● Distribution of food grains at low prices. ● Freedom from smoke for housewives with 'Deepam'. ● 'Gruhamitra' for price control. ● 40,688 discount stores. ● 98,82,053 white ration cards. ● Establishment of forums at the district and state levels to protect consumer rights. With the objective of freeing the poor from hunger, the government is providing food grains at low prices to the weaker sections below the poverty line. Rice, Wheat, Sugar, Kerosene, and Oil Fed is supplying cooking oil across the state through cheap shops in an efficient public distribution system. The state currently has 98,82,053 white ration cards, 6,22,800 Antyodaya Annayojana cards, and 53,97,160 pink cards. There are 40,688 cheap shops operating in the state. Of these, 7,743 are in urban areas and 32,945

2. are in rural areas. 12,045 shops are run by women. Civil Supplies Department plays a vital role in the procurement of food grains for civil supply. 40,17,342 tonnes of rice was collected in the year 1994-95, which increased to 63,27,050 tonnes in the year 2001-02. It contained a record 71.22 lakh metric tonnes of rice in 2000-01. 65.27 lakh metric tonnes in 2001-02 and 20.31 lakh metric tonnes in 2002-03 till 20.5.2003. The TDP Contributions made by the government have become Top TDP Achievements. Achievements in the field of civil supplies ● 9,690 tonnes of sugar sold at Rs.13.50 per kg. ● 12,806 tonnes of wheat sold at Rs.7/- per kg every month. ● The innovative method of coupons introduced to prevent irregularities in the subsidized rice scheme has produced excellent results and gave ● The coupon method is also giving good results in the sale of kerosene. ● 20 kg of rice per family for white card holders and 35 kg per family for 6.22 lakh beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Annayojana scheme at Rs.3/- per kg. ● Free supply of 10 kg rice per month under Annapurna scheme to 93,200 beneficiaries who are not getting old age pension. ● 3 liters of kerosene per month in rural areas and 10 liters of kerosene in urban areas are being supplied to white card holders of gas connection at Rs.9.50 per liter. Kerosene is being supplied at the rate of 23 liters to white card holders in Hyderabad/Secunderabad. "Grihamitra" scheme Launch of Grihamitra scheme on March 15, 2002, to provide essential commodities at reasonable prices, 14125 cheap shops were selected as Gruhamitra counters to sell the products collected from Self Help Societies to consumers at reasonable prices. Out of these 11239 cheap shops have started sales. 'Deepam' scheme The 'Deepam' scheme introduced by the state government to protect women from kitchen fumes is being successfully implemented. Till 30th April 2003 under this scheme 16, 82,924 rural women and 5,80,651 urban women have been sanctioned a total of 22,63,575 gas connections. Of these, 14,85,824 gas connections were distributed in rural areas and 5,30,171 in silk areas, a total of 20,03,104 gas connections. Protection of consumer rights Under the Protection of Consumer Rights Act, of 1986, the government has set up a state-level commission. Established full-scale consumer forums in districts. While 1,37,223 cases were filed in the district, 1,23,563 cases were solved. 2,154 complaints, 11,312 appeals, 1,585 revision petitions received at the state level, 1,852 complaints, 9,816 appeals, and 1,516 Division Petitions have been disposed of.
