The benefits of this method is that the floor becomes more stable with the plywood layer in between the timber and concrete which both move through the seasons. FLOORING INSTALLATION METHODS Plank on Ply Installation Plank on ply is the most effective method in which to install timber floors and Art of Timber recommends this method to optimise the results and longevity of your floor. The benefits of this method is that the floor becomes more stable with the plywood layer in between the timber and concrete which both move through the seasons. The other benefit is that we have greater ability to work with levels by sanding or lifting the plywood so that the timber can meet flush at external door frames

THE PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS: The concrete slab is ground with an industrial grinder to remove any small humps and contaminants such as paint, plaster, etc. A vaccum is connected so there is no dust at all. A moisture barrier is applied to the concrete. The 12mm plywood is glued and nailed to the concrete Then the timber is glued and pinned to the plywood. Engineered Flooring The concrete slab is ground with an industrial grinder so as to remove any small humps and contaminants such as paint, plaster, etc. A vacuum is connected so there is no dust at all. A moisture barrier is applied to the concrete. The timber is then glued to the concrete.
