What was the research requirement? • A wanted to understand the brand preference and purchase behaviour of respondents who already owned or intended to purchase a mobile phone, a refrigerator and home theatre system in the next 12 months. The study also included brand perception metrics for each product category. The respondents had to qualify with a pre-screener for particular segments (refrigerator, home theatre system or mobile) based on their responses internally, after which they were redirected to respective surveys. leading household products manufacturer • 2

How did Borderless Access solve the problem? • A good mix of various product options available in the market were obtained viz. in: home theatre system - 5 / 7 speaker system, wireless systems; mobile – smartphone; and refrigerator - bottom mounted freezer, regular refrigerators and their sizes. • The approach was to target pre-identified owners of the mentioned products and general population with an above-average household income in order to identify purchase intenders of the same products. 3

Outcome: • The study established that the respondents who owned or intended to purchase the products had good market knowledge of the brands available, ad recall, and even slogan recognition for various brands available. • The study also displayed that high number of consumers intended to purchase the products, based on their brand preferences and their purchase behaviour in the following 12 months. 4
