  1. Definition of freelancing and the freelance business model Freelancing is a business model in which individuals offer their services on a project-by- project basis, rather than working as a traditional employee. Freelancers are self-employed and are responsible for finding their own work, setting their own rates, and managing their own schedules. Freelance work can be found in a wide range of industries, including writing, graphic design, marketing, programming, consulting, and many others. Freelancers may work for a single client at a time or may have multiple clients concurrently. Some freelancers work from home, while others choose to rent office space or co-working facilities. Freelance businesses can be very flexible, allowing individuals to choose the types of projects they take on and the clients they work with. However, they also require a high level of self-motivation and discipline, as freelancers are responsible for finding their own work and managing their own time.
