  1. What is the MCAT?

  2. MCAT The is a massive standardized test that became necessary as dropout rates skyrocketed in the 1920's. Originally called the Moss Test, it was an extremely simple exam however help dramatically reduce the dropout rate in college along with stricter medical admission standards. Medical School

  3. MCAT The can be broken into three major sections. Biological Sciences(Biology and Organic Chemistry) Physical Sciences(Physics and Chemistry) Verbal Reasoning

  4. About the MCAT Flashcards Biology Chemistry Physics Organic Chemistry Verbal Reasoning

  5. About the MCAT - Biology - Topic List Human Body System

  6. About the MCAT - Chemistry - Topic List Molecules are combinations of elements Atomic Structure

  7. About the MCAT - Physics - Physics Topic List Energy (E) is the capacity of a physical substance to do work (scalar value) Potential Energy (PE/U) is the energy that has the potential to do something PE (U) = mgh Kinetic Energy (KE) is the energy of motion KE = ½mv2 Total Mechanical Energy is the sum of kinetic and potential energy ΔEtotal = ΔPE (U) + ΔKE Conservation of Mechanical Energy states in the absence of non-conservative forces, the sum of the KE and PE will be constant. If work done to move a particle is zero, or the net forces is the same, then force is conservative. When non-conservative forces are present (friction/air resistance) energy is not fully conserved and some is lost to heat, sound or other factors. To increase available kinetic energy, increase potential energy ½mv2 = mgh = 0 Work (W) is the process by which energy is transferred between systems

  8. About the MCAT - Organic Chemistry - Topic List Sigma (σ) Bonds are singular linear bonding orbitals that allow for free rotation and form when atoms bond head to head. Sigma bonds are single bonds.

  9. About the MCAT - Verbal Reasoning - Topic List Learning to pick out keywords and phrases is perhaps another one of the universal skills of the MCAT. Being able to understand keywords and phrases is crucial in being able to determine the purpose of the passage. Attention Indicator Keywords Attention indicator keywords call attention to the content being discussed. When you see these keywords, make special note as they are usually referring to a strong conclusion or key piece of evidence. For example a few of these keywords are... Essentially Primarily Especially Particularly Most of All Most Importantly
