  • Patch holes and smooth problem areas
  • Bake at 225 for 10 minutes

  • Gently sand sculpey areas smooth
  • Sand any other rough spots
  • Fit neckplug
  • Remove dust from head

  • Acrylic’s
  • Delta Ceramcoat, Folkart, Apple Barrell (no Americana)
  • Cheap
  • Washable
  • Easy to mix

Brushes

  • Taklon synthetic
  • #6 or #8 for flesh/hair
  • #0 for eyebrows, facial hair, etc…
  • 10/0 spotter for eyes and detail
  • Cheap brushes cause mental health problems
  • Clean after each use
  • Replace often!

Getting Started

  • Organize yourself
  • Place for brushes, paints, painted heads, tools

  • Color heads
  • Slick heads
  • Prime white if needed

  • Flesh first
  • #6 or #8 brush
  • Thin coats, one at a time. Let dry between coats.
  • DO NOT GLOB
  • Use Exacto to pick bits that show up after first coat when dry

  • Don’t worry about perfection yet
  • This is one coat, several coats may be needed

  • Blush- Use old #6 brush and dab on color
  • Re-dab with flesh
