Verification with INM Climate stations (upscaled to 22km).

  • ETS and TSS show that increasing the number of GPS sites improves model precipitation.

    • New moist scheme based on Kain-Fritsch convection and Rasch-Kristjannsson large scale implemented into the HIRLAM reference system.
    • Forecast 10-20 % more expensive and even more on vector computers (vector optimization in progress).
    • Improvement of precipitation over Iberia.

  • Time-lagged Super-Ensemble of 64 members every 6 hours.
