  1. Soave Enterprises Going Green Has Never Been So Beautiful 3400 E. Lafayette Detroit, MI 48207 (313) 567-7000 www.soave.com

  2. About Suave Enterprises • Diversified Management and Investment Company • Provides Strategic Planning, Financial and Other Management Resources • Collaborates in Real-Estate, Beverage Distribution, Automotive Dealerships, Metal Recycling and Diversified Holdings Soave Enterprises continues to grow thanks largely in part to one of its main affiliates, Ferrous Processing and Trading. Metal recycling is a major growing industry in America: making billions of dollars and directly employing over thousands of people including those at Anthony Soave’s company, Soave Enterprises. Through the metal recycling process, Tony Soave and Soave Enterprises support profitable green solutions for reusing aluminum.

  3. Context for Green Real Estate • Value of Community • Retail and Entertainment Within Walking Distance of Home • Superb Amenities and Infrastructure This is not just good news for Tony Soave and all those who recycle scrap metal for a living: it is also good news for consumers who are concerned about ecology. Greater interest in scrap metal means greater financial incentive for catching and recycling more of the metal that, in earlier times, might have ended up in a junkyard. Companies are making more of an effort to identify recyclable metal byproducts of their own processes, and saving these bits of metal from ending up in waste streams.

  4. Example: Brambleton • Combines Modern Conveniences With a Small Town Feeling • “A True Neighborhood” • Central Location in D.C. Suburbs To understand metal recycling at Soave Enterprises better, let us look at a particular metal: aluminum. The recycling of this important industrial metal has a long place in American history. Scraps of aluminum were saved and recycled as part of the US war effort during World War II—it meant more metal for our troops overseas, at less expense. But besides that, recycling bits of aluminum (which is ubiquitous in household goods) was not an everyday household activity for most of the next twenty years.

  5. Example: Brambleton • Nation’s first Verizon-enhanced fiber optic neighborhood • 2,000-acre residential and retail community • Home to more than 2,000 families and a variety of avian and aquatic wildlife Metal Recyclers such as Soave Enterprises affiliate Ferrous Processing and Trading follow a standard recycling process. The first step in aluminum recycling is to separate it from trash. It is then shredded into tiny bits, all roughly the same size, which makes it easier for the machines to handle. Cleaning follows and then the many bits are pressed together into blocks, which helps keep the bits of aluminum from oxidizing during the melting process and thus becoming less usable.

  6. Awards: Brambleton • Merit Award from PLANET (Professional Landcare Network)

  7. Other Communities • The Dunes (Naples, FL) • Maraya Bay Beach Tower (Naples, FL) • Museum Towers (Phoenix, AZ) • Regatta at Vanderbilt Beach (Naples, FL)
