  1. How to Paint Wooden Furniture Easily at Home

  2. 1. Prepare Your Furniture To start, set up your workspace with protection and center all your furniture or items. Take off or cover every handle, knob or hinge. This will allow you to paint all surfaces without fuss and reduce any accidental paint marks.

  3. 2. Sanding the Surface For some of the furniture with varnish or paint, you will only need to sand it for an even surface with medium-grain sandpaper. Wipe off any of the dust with a wet rag and let dry before moving on to the next step.

  4. 3. Degreaser Clean With another clean cloth, get some degreaser on the furniture. Sand again when dry with fine-grain sandpaper to smooth it out. Wipe off again and make sure it is clean and dry.

  5. 4. Apply Primer Apply a coat of wood primer using a brush for corners and a roller for larger areas. Stir the primer well before use. Doing this also gives the topcoat better adhesion and provides a finished ceiling to furniture.

  6. 5. Paint and Finish Apply two even coats of satin finish paint for a professional look. Follow the drying time mentioned on the tin and lightly sand between coats for the best result. Let it dry completely before use.
